Columbia, SC native Carl S. Sinkler, has been playing the saxophone for over 30 years. He began playing instruments at the age of 11, and eventually attended and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in music education from South Carolina State University where he studied saxophone under Ronald J. Sarjeant.

Carl was inducted into the SC State University Jazz Hall of Fame and later earned his Master of Music Education degree from the University of South Carolina in Columbia where he studied with Roger Pemberton.

Carl has extensive performance experience with artists including the late Dizzy Gillespie, Joe Sample, Clark Terry, Max Roach, Horace Ott, Johnny Williams, Millie Jackson, as well as a host of others.

In addition to performing regularly as a featured soloist for weddings, private parties, night clubs, restaurants, and many special events, he has been a high school band director for 22 years.  

He is also a studio musician as well as a freelance saxophonist for several bands in North and South Carolina as well as throughout the southeastern U.S.
